Youth Program for Skills Earns Youth Empowerment Award for Panduit
Panduit Corporation, a leading provider of innovative electrical and network infrastructure solutions, has launched the APAC Skills Change Lives Campaign. This comprehensive youth empowerment initiative aims to bridge the skills gap and enhance career readiness across Asia-Pacific, focusing on technical training, online education, competitions, and internships.
The campaign is structured around four key pillars:
- Technical Training Centres: Panduit has established state-of-the-art labs at ITE College East in Singapore and a simulated data center at Shanghai Zhonghua Vocational School, providing hands-on training in network infrastructure, smart manufacturing, and digital technologies.
- Online Learning Platforms: The campaign offers industry-relevant, accessible digital education, ensuring students can learn at their own pace and convenience.
- Skills Competitions: Sponsoring major events like WorldSkills Singapore and WorldSkills ASEAN, the campaign provides youth national recognition and practical experience.
- Internships: By linking students directly with real-world work opportunities, the campaign offers a chance to apply their newly acquired skills in a professional setting.
The goal of this initiative is to equip the next generation with in-demand skills, preparing them for sustainable careers and fostering inclusive economies. The program has already expanded to China and Japan, creating opportunities for youths across the region.
Panduit's efforts have been recognised with the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award (AREA) 2025, presented by Enterprise Asia, under the Social Empowerment category. The award honours Panduit's outstanding impact on youth skills development and workforce empowerment across Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Harry Woo, Managing Director and Senior Vice President (Asia Pacific) of Panduit Singapore, stated that the award reinforces their belief in investing in youth skills to uplift individuals and communities.
The APAC Skills Change Lives Campaign aligns with six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Quality Education (SDG 4), Decent Work & Economic Growth (SDG 8), Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), Sustainable Cities & Communities (SDG 11), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
As part of the expansion, new training centres will be opened, digital learning access will be enhanced, and programs will be tailored to meet the local workforce needs in each market.
