Yale's Edon Club Seeks Permanent Home Amidst Housing Challenges

The Edon Club at Yale, previously known as Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, has evolved significantly since opening its membership to all genders in 2020. Now with around 30 members per grade, the club is seeking a space to accommodate its growing community.

Edon's co-presidents, Ana Paula Berlanga and Jessie Chung, are leading the effort to secure a space for members to live together. However, the search has proven challenging due to New Haven's competitive housing market and limited brick-and-mortar options. The Yale University community is currently assisting Edon in its housing quest.

In the meantime, Edon relies on relationships with fraternities to host parties. This arrangement, while helpful, has led to some inconsistencies in party locations, causing frustration among members who struggle to keep track of where to go on weekends.

Despite the challenges, Edon continues its search for a permanent space, aiming to provide a consistent space for its members to socialize and build a stronger community. The club's leaders remain committed to finding a solution that works for everyone involved.
