"Weekly Update: Edition 2"

In the world of digital art and cultural heritage, the E-ART project continues to make strides towards a greener future. Recently, a Mid-Term International Meeting was held in Matera, Italy, on October 23-24, 2024.

During the meeting, partners, experts, artists, and curators gathered to discuss the project's progress and map out the path ahead. The focus was on the development of the 'Sustain Art Curriculum', a prolific collaboration between various professionals. This curriculum, soon to be available online, aims to equip artists and practitioners with knowledge about sustainable art, the use of sustainable materials, and the creation of new projects.

The meeting also marked the completion of the E-ART Training in Thessaloniki, Greece, where participants honed their skills in the realm of sustainable art. The training was a significant step towards the planned art workshops, which will offer opportunities for networking, collaboration, and experimentation with sustainable techniques and materials.

The E-ART project is not just about training and workshops. It's also about fostering awareness. As a result, the immediate focus is on implementing an Awareness Campaign through articles and posts on social media channels. The campaign aims to raise awareness about sustainable art practices and the importance of sustainability in the art sector.

In addition, work on the E-ART platform has been progressing. The platform is being finalized with the collection of sustainable materials and artist profiles. It now includes a Material Library, an Online Repository for promoting artists, and a sharing space for the E-Residency, a high-quality 5-day online residency program involving all partners.

The E-Residency will facilitate knowledge sharing between artists, scientists, and other stakeholders, further enriching the E-ART community. A timeline for future project activities has also been defined, ensuring a smooth transition from the Mid-Term International Meeting to the next stages of the project.

While the specific plans and next steps for the E-ART project after the Matera meeting are yet to be officially announced, the project's history suggests that it will involve further development of research outcomes, pilot implementations, dissemination activities, and preparation for final evaluations or events.
