Lehigh University Art Galleries Appoints Stacie E. Brennan '03 as Inaugural Curator of Education

Stacie E. Brennan, a Lehigh University alumna who graduated in 2003 with a double major in art and marketing, and a minor in Spanish, has returned to her alma mater as the inaugural curator of education at the Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG).

Brennan's new role involves developing and leading educational programs that connect the university community and the public with the art collections and exhibitions at LUAG. Her extensive background in museum education and curatorial work makes her well-equipped to create engaging learning experiences that foster deeper understanding and appreciation of art.

The appointment of Brennan marks a significant step for LUAG in expanding its educational outreach and enhancing the integration of the visual arts into the academic environment. Many strong candidates were considered during the national search process for the LUAG's inaugural curator of education position.

Dr. William Crow, director of the LUAG and professor of practice in art, architecture, and design, is thrilled to have Brennan's expertise and leadership in her role at LUAG. "Stacie brings a wealth of knowledge in arts education to her new position," said Dr. Crow. "Her experience and passion for art education will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of our educational programs."

In her new role, Brennan will oversee all educational programming and the visitor experience at LUAG. She will cater to a wide range of audiences, including Lehigh students and faculty, PK-12 schools and educators, and families.

Brennan's connections in the Lehigh Valley will also prove beneficial, as she has extensive relationships with artists and organizations in the area. This will help to strengthen the gallery's engagement with both Lehigh and the local community.

Before joining LUAG, Brennan was previously the senior director of visual arts for ArtsQuest. At ArtsQuest, she led programs with contemporary artists and was involved in several public art projects in Bethlehem. She also served as the director of education at the Main Line Arts Center in Haverford, Pa., from 2004-2015.

Brennan graduated from Lehigh University with an M.S. Ed. in leadership in museum education from New York's Bank Street College. She was delighted to return to Lehigh University for her new role at the LUAG on Sept. 3.

Brennan's appointment at LUAG is expected to strengthen the gallery's engagement with both Lehigh and the local community, providing opportunities for education, collaboration, and appreciation of the visual arts.
