For the 2025 scholarship, the requirements include residing in Mexico City, preferably in areas with a low, medium, or very low Social Development Index (IDS). The scholarship provides an economic support of 1,500 pesos bimonthly. Applicants must attach an official document validating enrollment in the current school cycle, issued by a public educational institution in Mexico City or any campus of a public national university located in the Mexico Valley Metropolitan Zone.

Applicants must have their Unique Population Registry Key (CURP) and an active personal email account. If you are a minor, you should attach the official identification of your mother, father, or tutor. The registration form can be found on the website sectei.cdmx.gob.mx.

Registration for the program is from August 6 and continues until the goal of 100,000 people is reached. After registration, a folio number will be issued as evidence that the procedure was carried out. The list of beneficiaries will be published from November 3 to 7, 2025.

The applicant cannot be a beneficiary of another economic support or social program of the same nature. If accepted, beneficiaries will be informed via the email provided. The scholarship program's website is now available on WhatsApp for relevant news, opinion articles, entertainment, trends, and more.

[1] For scholarships more generally in Mexico or targeting Mexican students going abroad (like the Fulbright-García Robles for graduate study in the US), the requirements include academic excellence, citizenship, and letters of recommendation, but those are different from local transportation support scholarships.

[3][5] For Hispanic student scholarships or other minority scholarships including financial aid, those usually require proof of heritage, enrollment status, and academic records, with specific applications available online.

  1. To apply for the scholarships offered under the category of 'education-and-self-development' such as the 'online-education' opportunities, students may need to complete an online application form, provide required supporting documents, and demonstrate academic merit or financial need.
  2. Aspiring news scholars might find various opportunities featuring 'news' learning resources online, but for these specific scholarships, proof of residence, academic records, and citizenship or legal residency status may be the common requirements.
