Tribhuvan University (TU) has announced the eligibility criteria for its upcoming Chance Exam, providing students with an additional opportunity to pass or improve their results. The Chance Exam is open to students enrolled in various programs, including the 3-Year and 4-Year Bachelor programs and Master’s level programs in fields such as Management, Humanities, Education, Law, Science, and Technology.

For the 3-Year Bachelor programs, students who were admitted in 2053 and participated in their first-year exam in 2054 are eligible. Similarly, for the 4-Year Bachelor programs, students from the Science and Technology Study Institute admitted in 2069 and those from the Humanities Faculty and Management Faculty admitted between 2053 and 2073 are eligible. Specifically for the Master’s level programs, first and second-year students in Humanities, Management, Education, Law, and Science and Technology admitted between 2056 and 2075 are eligible.

Students from the Management Faculty admitted in 2070 and those from the Humanities Faculty admitted between 2053 and 2073 are also eligible for the Chance Exam for the 4-Year Bachelor Level. Interestingly, only students from the Education Faculty who were admitted in 2072 and participated in the first year exam in 2073 are eligible for the Chance Exam in their faculty.

The deadline for filling out the Chance Exam form for these programs was from 24 Magh till 23 Falgun 2081 (Nepali calendar), which roughly corresponds to mid-February to early March 2025. After the regular deadline, forms could still be submitted with double fees for one week after the due date.

Exam fees include an NPR 100 form fee, an NPR 150 exam center fee, NPR 1500 per semester for Bachelor students, and NPR 2000 per semester for Master’s students. Additional fees apply for practical exams and projects.

It is worth noting that the responsibility for students not mentioned in the earlier bullet points to fill out the form and participate in the exam lies with the respective campus. The examination application form will be available at the respective campus for campus students and at the relevant examination control offices for private candidates. There is no online arrangement for filling out the examination form.

A double check will be done within one week of Falgun 23, 2081. For more information, students are advised to contact their respective campuses or examination control offices.
