Unlocking Opportunities: ALROSA's Job Fair and Beyond
ALROSA, the diamond giant, recently showcased its employment prospects at the regional job fair "Work in Russia. Time of Opportunities." In this article, we delve into the company's job offerings, partnerships, and employee support strategies.
Last week, ALROSA and its subsidiary "Alrosa Anabar" revealed a range of vacancies to eager job-seekers. These roles spanned various departments, including the Mirny-Nyurbinsky GOK, ALROSA-Torg, and Mirny Road Management (MRM), offering both permanent and shift positions.
"At the job fair, we showcased relevant vacancies in our departments and subsidiary organizations. These opportunities cater to a variety of skillsets, from geology experts to sales professionals. Attendees received professional consultations from us, which helped them map out promising career trajectories," said Natalia Gerasimova, ALROSA's chief personnel recruiter.
Passion Meets Profession: Stories of Two Jobseekers
Amelia Savvinova, a geology graduate from Yakutsk State University, applied for the position of diamond sorting and evaluation. With her expertise in geology and diamond sorting, she aims to work for ALROSA within the Yarkiyvyatskoye pit (YAPTA) site.
"ALROSA is the epitome of the diamond industry, and I'm excited about the opportunity to contribute to their team," Amelia shared enthusiastically.
Nicholas Nikiforov, a sorter and separator from the Zhigansk District, seeks a role in the parent organization, demonstrating his adaptability to shift work and willingness to work on any site.
Education Partnerships: ALROSA's Knowledge Alliance
ALROSA partners with leading technical and higher education institutions like the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov. Over the past years, more than 100 graduates from NEFU have been employed at ALROSA's enterprises. The company also offers industrial practice opportunities to more than 150 students annually.
"At the job fair, we placed a special emphasis on youth career guidance - students, graduates, and their parents could learn about the most in-demand professions and current trends in the labor market. This enabled us to receive a high volume of inquiries from young people about the possibility of industrial practice and the availability of vacancies for graduates of educational institutions," said Natalia Gerasimova.
A Homegrown Workforce: Supporting Yakutia's Talent
With a workforce of over 35,000 people, more than 80% of whom are from Yakutia, ALROSA has a strong commitment to nurturing local talent. The company maintains a system for adapting new workers and a mentoring program for young specialists. Through its Corporate University, ALROSA continually invests in employee development and career advancement.
ALROSA has been the uncontested leader in employing Yakutians, having hired over 22,000 republic residents in the last seven years. Last year alone, over 6,500 people found jobs with ALROSA.
Supporting Employees: ALROSA's Award-Winning Approach
ALROSA's commitment to employee welfare extends beyond compensation. In 2024, it won the "Best Participant of the 'Local Talent in Industry' Project" competition for its comprehensive approach to employment. This includes sports and fitness facilities, creative support, training and retraining opportunities, sanatorium rest, medical facilities, and more - all at the company's expense.
Embracing the Future: ALROSA's Participation in "Working Yakutia. Staff"
To further support Yakutian talent, ALROSA has joined the "Working Yakutia. Staff" project, which aims to create a mechanism for social partnership between employers, educational institutions, and government bodies to address personnel needs and attract labor resources. The project prioritizes individual approaches for each enterprise and includes initiatives like new job openings, internships, training programs, and targeted enterprise support.
