Top Scorer in Romania's International Baccalaureate Exam of 2025 - Teodora Gandore Obtains Impressive Perfect Score of 45 at International School of Bucharest

The International School of Bucharest (ISB) has once again demonstrated exceptional performance in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The Class of 2025 achieved a 100% subject pass rate with average diploma scores significantly higher than the global average.

A Standout Achievement

Teodora Gandore, a student at ISB, made headlines as the only student in Romania and one of just 200+ students worldwide to achieve a perfect score of 45 out of 45 points in the May 2025 IB exams. This remarkable achievement places Teodora as the highest-scoring student in Romania for 2025[1].

Notable Achievements Across the Cohort

The success of the Class of 2025 was not limited to Teodora's exceptional performance. Violeta B., another ISB student, achieved an impressive 44 out of 45 points, while Liza G. followed closely with an impressive 43 points. In total, six students from ISB achieved 40 points or higher[1][3][4]. Furthermore, 32 students from ISB reached scores of 30 points or more, reflecting a strong academic performance across the cohort[1].

A Holistic Approach to Education

The success of ISB's students can be attributed to the school's commitment to a holistic approach to education. The IB Diploma Programme, a two-year curriculum designed for students aged 16-19, emphasizes critical thinking, research skills, community service, and international-mindedness[5]. At ISB, this approach is blended with academic excellence, emotional, and personal development, central to the school's mission of shaping responsible, compassionate, and globally minded citizens[6].

A Collective Achievement

The success of the Class of 2025 is a testament to countless hours of study, meaningful mentorship, and encouragement. Teodora herself expressed gratitude to her teachers for their support and belief in her throughout her journey[2].

Mr. Serdar Sakman, ISB's Head of School, congratulated the graduating class for their international-mindedness, integrity, and service. He also expressed gratitude to the entire ISB community for inspiring futures without borders[6].

Preparing Students for Life

The IB Diploma Programme equips students not just for university admissions, but for life. It prepares them to be critical thinkers, effective communicators, and individuals with a strong sense of global responsibility[7]. The programme's emphasis on community service and international-mindedness ensures that students develop a global perspective and a commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
