Timur Kulibayev Foundation unveils extensive educational initiative, aiming to transition students from school life to professional careers.

The Halyk Timur Kulibayev Charitable Foundation has launched a significant educational initiative, the Talimger project, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills and promoting education in the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan. This ambitious programme targets young people and aspiring entrepreneurs, equipping them with the knowledge, training, and resources needed to develop their business capabilities and contribute to the region's economic growth.

Key Components of the Talimger Project

  1. Entrepreneurial Education: The project offers a variety of courses, workshops, and training sessions designed to teach essential skills such as business planning, financial literacy, marketing, and management.
  2. Practical Support: Participants will benefit from mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to funding or microloans to help them start and grow their own businesses.
  3. Community Development: The Talimger project encourages local innovation and entrepreneurship as a means to stimulate economic diversification and create job opportunities in Mangystau.

A Comprehensive Approach to Education

The Talimger project covers all levels of education, from kindergartens to colleges. In kindergartens, children will learn basic economic thinking through games. As they progress through primary school, students will learn elements of entrepreneurship through labour education. In middle and high school, students will gain knowledge in financial, digital, and media literacy.

At the college level, students will develop their own business projects and startups. To ensure the success of this educational journey, 240 specialists will be trained, including school teachers, college lecturers, and career counsellors.

Aligning with National Priorities

The Talimger project aligns with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's priorities, emphasising the importance of teaching entrepreneurship from school to university. The project includes startup competitions for students and an interactive media portal to help parents and educators understand how to develop children and help them choose a profession.

A holistic approach to development

The Talimger project is part of the Halyk Foundation's broader effort to develop the Mangystau region. This includes infrastructure improvement, water supply, sports facilities, and more. The project aims to cultivate independent and responsible citizens, involving not just students, but also their parents, teachers, businesses, and local communities.

Since 2023, the Timur Kulibayev Foundation has allocated 5 billion tenge for regional development in the Mangystau region. The Talimger project is supported by Halyk Bank, the Kazakh government, and the Mangystau region's akimat.

Educational materials are being developed, and business camps are planned for summer 2026 to develop leadership, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial skills. From September 2025, the subject "Foundations of Entrepreneurship and Business" will be introduced in all regional schools and colleges.

By combining education, practical experience, and community engagement, the Talimger project seeks to empower the region’s youth and aspiring entrepreneurs to become successful business leaders, ultimately contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in Mangystau.

The Talimger project, initiated by the Halyk Timur Kulibayev Charitable Foundation, integrates entrepreneurial education, finance, and business principles into its curriculum, aiming to equip young people and aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to foster their business ventures and stimulate economic growth in the Mangystau region. Aligning with the national priorities set by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the project covers education from kindergarten through college, providing a comprehensive learning experience encompassing financial and digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and media literacy. Additionally, the project offers practical support, such as mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to funding, to complement the educational aspects and help promote self-development among its participants.
