A benefit concert in Solingen has raised 13,000€ for musical education. The funds, donated by Sparkasse Solingen and Stadtwerke Solingen, will support the Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Academy. The event, held on March 23, saw the Youth Symphony Orchestra perform alongside the Bergische Symphoniker at the Theater and Concert Hall.

The concert, hosted by Ralph Erdenberger and directed by Peter Wuttke and GMD Daniel Huppert, featured Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt suites and an excerpt from Antonín Dvořák's 8th Symphony. More than 500 guests attended the event. The donations were handed over by Stefan Grunwald (Sparkasse Solingen) and Leif Reitis (Stadtwerke Solingen) to the Solingen Music School and the Orchestra Academy.

The Youth Symphony Orchestra will use the funds for instruments, sheet music, orchestra trips, and rehearsal weekends. This will allow the Orchestra Academy to continue promoting the musical education of young, talented students in Solingen.

The successful concert and generous donations ensure that musical talent in Solingen will continue to flourish. The Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Academy can now plan for future growth and development, thanks to the support of Sparkasse Solingen and Stadtwerke Solingen.
