In a significant milestone, Lehigh University's "GO Beyond: The Campaign for Future Makers" has surpassed the $1 billion mark, reaching $1.006 billion as of June 30, the end of the fiscal year. This achievement was announced by Carol Packard, the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations.
The campaign, which aims to raise a total of $1.25 billion, has seen generous donations from over 63,000 alumni, parents, students, and friends. These collective investments of time, talent, and financial support have played a crucial role in reaching this impressive milestone.
A significant portion of the funds, amounting to $297,390,600, has been allocated for scholarships and financial aid. This includes the establishment of 355 new endowed scholarships, providing financial support to a diverse range of students.
Furthermore, $285,245,814 has been given for research, capital projects, and faculty support. These funds will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement of knowledge and the development of state-of-the-art facilities at Lehigh.
Carol Packard, who also encourages everyone to recognise the impact of their combined actions at Lehigh, takes time to speak with students and faculty whose research is supported by donations. She hears first-hand accounts of the transformative impact these funds have on the lives of students and the future of the university.
In her speeches, Carol Packard emphasises the community's capacity to dream big and go beyond what others think is possible. She encourages everyone to seize the moment and contribute to the campaign, emphasising that there is still $250 million left to reach the campaign's goal of $1.25 billion.
Joel Johnson, Ph.D., the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, expressed his gratitude for the community's support. He believes that this milestone is a testament to the community's eagerness and readiness to meet the challenge of reaching the campaign's goal.
The "GO Beyond" campaign still has an opportunity to shape the future of Lehigh, and with the community's continued support, it is well on its way to achieving its ambitious goal.
