Schools in Verkhnecolymsk district are adopting a shorter school day schedule.
The Verkhnekolymsky district is currently facing a heating crisis, with many homes and organizations struggling to maintain adequate temperatures. An appeal has been made to all relevant authorities, including the regional Minister of Energy or Housing and Communal Services, as the issue is considered to be beyond local solutions.
The Zyryanskaya SOSh school has been affected by the cold, with an order issued to change the school's operating schedule due to low classroom temperatures. Each lesson will now be 30 minutes instead of 45 minutes, starting September 9. This adjustment is necessary due to the short period of heating supply, which is provided in the district using backup power sources (BPS). However, these power sources are only capable of working for a limited time in the Verkhnekolymsky district.
The first snow fell in the district overnight on September 9, adding to the urgency of finding a permanent solution. The focus remains on finding a long-term solution for the heating issues in the Zyryansk region.
The Verkhnekolymsky branch of GUP "JKh RS (Y)" is under the interim leadership of Anton Galyuk. Clarification about the recalculation of communal service payments for the days with inadequate heating has been sought from the Ministry of JKKh RS (Y). However, no information has been provided as of yet.
The local newspaper, Kolymskie Novosti, has reported on the heating problems in the Verkhnekolymsky district. Five boilers of the Verkhnekolymsky branch are under electricity restriction, compounding the issue.
As the district braces for colder weather, the community awaits a decision to provide permanent heat supply to homes for sale and organizations in the Verkhnekolymsky district.
