Residents of Kamychlovsk district participated in the initiative titled "Village Benefit Project"
In an effort to improve access to quality medical care and early disease detection in rural settlements, the Organization of the "Goodness to the Village" project, known as ODKB, has launched a cultural-educational project for oncology patients in the Kamyshlovsky district.
The preventive campaign, "Goodness to the Village", is designed to bridge the gap between healthcare services and rural communities. Over the course of two days, approximately 200 residents in the district received health checks as part of this initiative.
The health screenings offered during the campaign aim to identify and manage common health issues early. These screenings include blood pressure and blood sugar tests, cholesterol and lipid profile tests, basic cancer screenings for common types such as breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer, and mental health assessments.
A team of specialists, including general practitioners, cardiologists, endocrinologists, oncologists, and psychologists, are involved in providing consultations and further guidance based on the screening results.
The primary objectives of the campaign are early detection and prevention, education and awareness, accessibility, and community engagement. By focusing on these aspects, the "Goodness to the Village" campaign can significantly improve the health outcomes and quality of life for residents in the district.
Irina Levina, director of the Sverdlovsk Medical College, confirmed that the project is co-organized by the regional health ministry. In the villages, medical facilities such as an ophthalmological complex, mammographer, fluorograph, and specialists like a neurologist, ophthalmologist, gerontologist, midwife were present.
The "Goodness to the Village" project offers residents the first stage of screening for various diseases at an early stage. The health mobile team examined 93 residents of Obuhovsky and 98 in the village of Voskhod during the campaign.
Mobile medical workers provided access to quality medical care in rural settlements, aligning with the national project "Healthy Longevity". Medical college students, members of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of "Volunteers-Medics", and Russian Red Cross volunteers assisted in the health checks.
Participating in the project provides practical experience in primary healthcare for medical college students. Future medics and teachers conducted workshops on oral hygiene, proper handwashing, and first aid rules in a local kindergarten.
Regional head, Denis Pasler, emphasized that increasing the lifespan of Sverdlovsk residents in a comfortable and healthy way is a priority. Galina Yudina, an Obuhovsky resident, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to receive neurology and ophthalmology consultations near home.
