Politics Confronted: Ten Youth Demands for Enhanced Participation in Decision-Making - Schoolchildren Engage with Politicians on Key Issues

On Friday, 19th September 2025, a significant event is taking place at Basecamp Berlin, Mittelstraße 51, 10117 Berlin. Organised by Berlin students in collaboration with Children's Aid, one of Europe's largest children's rights organisations, this event promises to be a fascinating discussion on the role of young people in politics and society.

The event, scheduled to commence from 8:45 AM, will be moderated by Twitch streamer Kim Adam, also known as "Freiraumreh". The discussion will feature prominent political figures such as Pascal Meiser from Die Linke, MdB, Michael Hose from the CDU, MdB and chairman of the Children's Commission, Frank Mischo, Advocacy Manager at Children's Aid, and Carsten Montag, a board member of Children's Aid.

The students, aged between 12 and 18, have been intensively working on children's rights aspects in party programs for the federal election since the beginning of the year. They have developed ten points on good and sustainable participation, which they will present at the event. Lennox and Lynn, along with other Berlin students, will also be discussion partners at the event.

The event will be accessible to a young audience on Kim Adam's Twitch channel. Registration for the event is mandatory and should be done in advance by September 18th, 2025, by emailing Sophie.Rutter@children's-aid.de. Interview requests can be mentioned upon registration.

It's worth noting that the event is happening before International Children's Day, a day that celebrates children worldwide and their rights. Children's Aid, an organisation with over 60 years of experience in supporting children and young people in difficult life situations worldwide, is committed to ensuring that the voices of young people are heard.

For further information or press inquiries, please contact Martin Bondzio, the deputy press spokesperson for Children's Aid, at Martin.Bondzio@children's-aid.de or Tel. 0203 7789 242.

This promises to be an engaging event that brings together young minds and political leaders to discuss the future of youth involvement in politics and society. Don't miss out on this opportunity to make your voice heard!
