Park University Declares Scholarship Recipients for 2025, Recognizing Academic Achievements

Park University has unveiled a series of competitive academic scholarships for the incoming Class of 2025, totalling $1.65 million. The scholarships, designed to make a world-class education accessible, are awarded to talented individuals who have excelled academically, demonstrated character, and have potential that sets them apart.

The most prestigious scholarship, the Presidential Honors Scholarship, is awarded to two students this year. Jose Gonzalez from Bishop Ward High School, Kansas City, Kan., and Claire Langer from Park Hill South High School, Riverside, Mo., will have their full tuition, fees, room and board, and a $5,000 study abroad stipend covered for four years. This scholarship, valued at over $117,000, is the University's most significant recognition of academic achievement.

The Park Trustee Scholarship, another prestigious award, is given to 12 students this year. Recipients include Kenna Barton from Liberty (Mo.) High School, Emily Carter from Liberty (Mo.) North High School, Dakota Day from Plattsburg (Mo.) High School, Ada Gollnick from Plattsburg (Mo.) High School, Joselyn Monzon Gomez from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy, Kansas City, Mo., Maria Harden from Park Hill South High School, Riverside, Mo., Mackenzie Keller from Norristown (Pa.) Area High School, Matthew Lallana from Park Hill High School, Kansas City, Mo., Kaitlyn Lavery from Lee's Summit (Mo.) North High School, Tristan McManus from Park Hill South High School, Riverside, Mo., Agustin Medina from Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kan., and Lillian Welch from Winnetonka High School, Kansas City, Mo. The Park Trustee Scholarship provides one-half of a year's tuition (or one semester) for four years, with a value of $34,000.

Another scholarship available to incoming freshmen is the McAfee Scholarship, which provides full tuition and fees for four years, with a value of $72,000. This year, the McAfee Scholarship has been awarded to 14 students.

Shane Smeed, president of Park University, expressed his enthusiasm for these scholarships, stating, "These scholarships provide life-changing opportunities, and we are prepared to support these students as they take the next step in their educational journey."
