Park University boosts its Board of Trustees by welcoming two fresh members
New Members Join Park University's Board of Trustees
Linda Coventon and Robert Bucker have been elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Trustees at Park University, effective July 1. Coventon, a resident of Parkville, and Bucker, a notable figure in the Kansas City region, will bring their diverse experiences to the board.
Coventon, who currently serves as a network executive with Meritas Health Corp., based in Kansas City, Mo., has an extensive career in health care administration. Prior to joining Meritas Health, she was the administrative director of clinic operations for INTEGRIS Health in Oklahoma City for 17 years. Coventon has also held stints with St. Anthony Hospital as assistant director of planning, Four Seasons Nursing Centers as a project analyst, and Oklahoma Health Systems Agency as a review specialist, all in Oklahoma City. She earned her Master of Public Health/Health Care Administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado.
Robert Bucker, D.M.A., a retired vice provost and dean of the faculty at Manhattan (N.Y) School of Music, has held various positions in the Kansas City region, including at Kansas City Young Audiences, The Barstow School, Liberty (Mo.) High School, Northgate Junior High School in North Kansas City (Mo.) and Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, Mo. He has also served as a strategic planning and community outreach consultant with various performing arts institutions. Bucker is also known for founding the Choral Arts Ensemble of Kansas City and Kansas City Youth Chorale. In addition, he has held positions at the College of the Arts at Portland (Ore.) State University, the Mike Curb College of Arts, Media and Communication, and the Valley Performing Arts Center at California State University, Northridge, among others.
The Board of Trustees at Park University is currently chaired by Jeanette Prenger, with Troy Teague serving as secretary and Lynn Craghead as treasurer. Vince Clark has been elected as vice chair. The roles and responsibilities of Bucker and Coventon within the board have yet to be announced.
