In the picture we can see some school children are standing on the path with school uniforms and they are holding some papers in their hands and one girl is talking something near the microphone which is to the stand and behind them we can see a fencing wall and to the top of it we can see a shed with some balloons top it.

Parents Split on Homeschooling, Most Back Notification to School Districts

A recent poll, the 2017 EdNext Survey, has revealed a mixed public opinion on homeschooling. While 51 percent of parents support the practice, 29 percent oppose it. The survey also found that a majority of the general public, 73 percent, believe school districts should be informed about homeschooling intentions.

The poll indicates a significant level of support for homeschooling among parents, with over half favouring it. However, a substantial minority, nearly a third, remain opposed. Interestingly, teachers were found to be just as likely to homeschool their children or send them to charter schools as other parents, suggesting that educators may be more open to alternative educational methods than previously thought.

The survey also highlighted a strong consensus among the public regarding notification. Almost three-quarters agreed that school districts should be informed when parents decide to homeschool their children. This suggests a desire for transparency and accountability in educational decisions.

The 2017 EdNext Poll provides valuable insights into public opinion on homeschooling. It shows a divide among parents, with a majority supporting the practice but a significant minority opposed. The poll also underscores the importance of communication and transparency, with a large majority of the public favouring notification of school districts about homeschooling intentions.
