"Online Gathering: Youth from around the World – Over 200 Nationalities – Unite in a Virtual Sports Camp"
Kickin' It Online: Kids Unite Worldwide Via 'Football for Friendship' Simulator
Get ready to experience the thrill of virtual football as kids from over 200 countries band together, all through the magic of the F4F World football simulator! This year, from May 15-23, be a part of the ninth season of "Football for Friendship" (F4F), an international children's social program, in an exciting online format.
At the International Friendship Camp, participants bond through a variety of engaging activities. Whether joining online events, discussing essential values such as friendship, equality, fairness, and more, or perfecting their skills for the upcoming World Online Championship, there's something for everyone!
Conquer worlds and prepare for the big leagues while young footballers train and hone their skills, or budding journalists improve their reporting chops by covering the program events. 14-year-old Shahriar Ahmed Mahir, a young journalist from Bangladesh, shares his enthusiasm: "The F4F World game has united us all! Amidst the many memories of previous program seasons, we are all one—united!"
From the wisdom of educators to the guidance of young coaches, the participants explore a myriad of activities, including writing essays, recording videos about environmental preservation, and discussing gender equality in sports.
Take, for instance, our friend David Sargeant from Ireland. To help save the local bees and nourish them, he creates "bee bombs" — a mix of clay, nutrient-rich soil, wildflower, and nectar plant seeds. David raises awareness about the plight of these vital pollinators and their essential role in sustainable development.
With the help of coaches like Alketabi Nivin from Syria, international Friendship teams prepare for the digital 2021 World Online Championship. Thirty-two Friendship national teams participate, with the qualifying matches taking place May 24 and 25, and the grand final on May 29. The teams are named after endangered species to raise awareness about the urgent issue of species extinction, such as the "Chinese Alligator," "Red-legged Raven," and "Black Shark."
Last year, "Football for Friendship" successfully went online, bringing together over 10,000 players of all ages. The special digital platform provided a playing field for international youth competitions, a place to train, join mixed international teams, and enjoy their favorite game from the comfort of home!
