Northwestern University's Global Learning Office Forges Collaboration with Intrax Foundation
Intrax Foundation's Global Horizons Trek Fund: Making a Mark on Cultural Exchange and the World
As of May 27, 2025, Intrax teams up with Northwestern University's Global Learning Office (GLO) to launch the Intrax Foundation Yokota and Wilhelm Scholars Global Horizons Fund
SAN FRANCISCO — Intrax, a global leader in cultural exchange, makes headway today with its partnership with Northwestern University's Global Learning Office. The duo forges the Global Horizons Program, a transformative opportunity for undergrads lacking international travel experience and financial resources.
Sara Tully, GLO's director, is ecstatic about the venture: "We're stoked to team up with Intrax to deliver an unparalleled global learning experience for undergrads. The Global Horizons Program offers these students the tools to develop international travel literacy, broadening their academic horizons."
This program packages short-term, non-credit bearing, nine-day study treks conducted during spring break. First-year students participate in academic immersion trips and foster deeper connections with faculty, advisers, and peers while soaking up a foreign culture[1][3].
The spring 2026 pioneer group dives deep into Where Cultures Meet: Exploring Modern Taiwan, under the guidance of Wen-pin Hsieh, an assistant professor in Northwestern's Department of Asian Languages and Cultures. Following groups will join in 2027 and 2028[2].
Exploring the world abroad brings about precious personal growth. Currently, around half of Northwestern undergraduates study abroad. The Global Horizons Program's hands-on, experiential approach will help expand awareness and access to students, fostering the development of global citizens[1][4].
Marcie Schneider, President of Intrax Inc., proudly declares, "Our mission has always been to create connections between people and cultures. Through the Intrax Foundation's donation to Northwestern, we hope these experiences offer insight into the numerous lifestyle benefits of becoming a global citizen."
Intrax’s prominence in cultural exchange has connected over a million individuals across 100 countries since 1980[5]. The Intrax Foundation, established in 2023 to honor the company's founding fathers, will establish vital global connections through collaboration with Northwestern[5].
