Nazarbayev Intellectual School Plans Digital Lab, Supports Rural Students
The Supervisory Board of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology (NIS CBN) recently gathered to discuss the school's future and digital innovation. The meeting, held online on February 26, was chaired by Director Gulmira Munkeeva, who presented a report on the branch's 2020 activities.
The central topic of the discussion was the upcoming construction of an open digital technology laboratory, the 'NIS Engineering LAB', on the school's premises. However, details about the architect responsible for this project remain scarce.
Munkeeva also raised the issue of actively involving gifted students from rural schools in the competitive selection process for NIS admission. The board members delved into possible algorithms to prepare these students for entrance exams, ensuring no one is left behind.
The meeting also touched on the successful transmission of NIS CBN Almaty's experience to 80 city schools and 20 regional schools. Looking ahead, the new NIS project is expected to serve as a hub for IT startups and scientific research among Almaty's students.
The Supervisory Board prioritised the introduction of Intellectual Schools' experience into public educational institutions across Almaty in 2021. With the upcoming 'NIS Engineering LAB' and initiatives to support rural students, the school continues to innovate and expand its impact on Almaty's educational landscape.
