New High-Caliber Pianos Arrive at the School of Music, Courtesy of The Ahmanson Foundation
The School of Music at our institution is thrilled to announce the arrival of seven new Yamaha pianos, generously gifted by The Ahmanson Foundation. These high-caliber instruments are set to significantly upgrade our practice rooms and provide students with the confidence they need to hone their performance and musicianship skills.
The new pianos were delivered on October 15 and are now located within the School of Music. A video showcasing their arrival is available to view below.
In addition to these generous donations, the School of Music has established a piano purchase and maintenance fund, accepting donations to support the upkeep of these new instruments. To donate, simply visit this link: [URL].

The Ahmanson Foundation, based in Los Angeles County, California, is a philanthropic organization that primarily supports projects focused on health, medicine, and human services. It is named after Howard F. Ahmanson Sr., who was also known for his involvement with H. F. Ahmanson & Co., a California holding company best known for the parent company of Home Savings of America.
In the field of arts and culture, including music education specifically, the Ahmanson Foundation has made significant contributions. Notably, they have supported the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) with investments totaling about $130 million, helping the museum acquire nearly 99 artworks and fund the construction of key museum buildings between 1972 and 2020.
While there is clear evidence of the Ahmanson Foundation’s broad support for arts organizations like LACMA, there is no direct mention in the provided sources of specific philanthropic contributions exclusively targeted at music education. For more detailed or recent information about their specific involvement in music education philanthropy, direct inquiry with the foundation or specialized databases in arts philanthropy may be required.
With these new pianos, beautiful music is expected to fill the practice room hallways of our School of Music soon upon a return to in-person instruction. We are grateful for the Ahmanson Foundation's generosity and look forward to the music that will be created by our students on these high-caliber instruments.
The School of Music, appreciative of The Ahmanson Foundation's continued support in music education and arts, is planning to incorporate these new high-caliber pianos in their curriculum, aiming to foster student's self-development and creativity in education-and-self-development, including musical performances.
In their free time, students and faculty at the School of Music, equipped with these top-tier pianos, anticipate creating captivating music, blending entertainment and music for the entire school community.
