Professor Travis J. Cross Takes the Helm at UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music

In the world of music education and conducting, the name of Professor Travis J. Cross is gaining prominence. The United States Department of Education recognised Professor Cross's potential early on, naming him a Jacob K. Javits Fellow. After completing his doctoral coursework, he served as assistant professor of music and wind ensemble conductor at Virginia Tech for five years.

Professor Cross's expertise extends beyond conducting. He is a Yamaha Master Educator, excelling in composing and arranging band music. His works have been performed at the Midwest Clinic, a premier music education conference.

Before his tenure at UCLA, Professor Cross earned degrees from St. Olaf College and Northwestern University in music. He brings this rich academic background and practical experience to his role at UCLA, where he continues to shape the lives of young musicians and contribute to the world of music.
