Tomsk, May 22 – RIA Tomsk

Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and MTS, a leading Russian digital company, signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday at the U-NOVUS forum. According to the university's press service, the agreement aims to prepare human resources and joint research projects.

The agreement's details include the promotion of collaborative educational initiatives such as lectures, conferences, forums, roundtable discussions, and training programs. Additionally, the parties plan to implement research projects with the involvement of MTS experts.

Anton Gridnev, the director of MTS in Tomsk, was quoted in the press release as saying, "MTS is ready to actively share its expertise and resources within the cooperation with the university. This will help students acquire relevant and market-demanded metas- and professional skills."

The agreement allows TPU students to join MTS's paid internship programs, including those that do not require students to temporarily detach from academic activities. In response, Alexei Googolev, TPU's pro-rector for science and strategic projects, stated, "The partnership will help young specialists determine their specialties and adapt to real-world conditions in the digital and technical sectors."

Mr. Googolev also mentioned that TPU and MTS share a long history of partnerships, which he believes will further expand. Emphasizing the current active development of the telecommunications and IT sectors, he explained that TPU prepares specialists for these fields. By combining efforts, TPU students can take advantage of MTS's digital ecosystem.

The U-NOVUS forum also featured a meeting between TPU students from specific programs and MTS experts, as well as a presentation of projects that offer new opportunities for young specialists and their support in the early stages of their careers. These activities include lectures, workshops, and interactive sessions, designed to equip TPU students with practical skills in technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation ecosystems.

Although direct details about joint research projects undertaken by TPU and MTS are not explicitly stated, the context of the U-NOVUS forum and related start-up competitions suggest collaboration on innovations in IT, new materials, and chemical technology, where MTS's technological expertise complements TPU's research capabilities.

Technology and education-and-self-development are central elements in the collaboration between Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and MTS, as evidenced by the agreement signed to prepare human resources and joint research projects. The agreement includes various educational initiatives, such as lectures, conferences, training programs, and research projects with MTS experts, providing TPU students with relevant, market-demanded skills and opportunities to join MTS's paid internship programs.
