Military tunes to replace traditional school bells in Russian institutions starting May.
Taking a Spin with Tunes instead of Bells
Swapping chair for melodies, tunes like "Cossacks in Berlin", "Katyusha", "Dark-eyed Girl", and others are on the playlist.
Dive into history's depths with kids by putting a spin on school bells with the "Melodies Instead of Bells" initiative. According to Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov, this interactive approach helps children gain a taste of the struggles faced in times of distress, making history more accessible and digestible.
Before breaks, schools pump up the volume with a thematic soundtrack—all part of the "Music Instead of Bells" action. For example, in anticipation of February 23rd, students lost themselves in the beats of "For You, Motherland", "By the Black Sea", and "Officers". Close to March 8th, they swayed to "The Mammoth Song", "Mom - The First Word", "What's It Made Of...", and more. Apart from the mentioned dates, schools cook up a soulful storm with compositions by Alexandra Pakhmutova, musical excerpts from Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballets, space-themed tunes, and whatnot.
