Microsoft and EZRA achieve Guinness World Records title by training nearly 5,000 employees.
In a groundbreaking achievement, digital coaching platform EZRA has set a new Guinness World Records title for the most people to complete a business coaching programme in one year, engaging with 4,816 Microsoft employees. The record was presented at an EZRA and Microsoft event in London on April 28.
EZRA's partnership with Microsoft is part of a shared commitment to empowering workforces through coaching and training. Microsoft, known for its focus on skills development, particularly around AI, offers a 12-week coaching programme to 70,000 people, with EZRA running the 1:1 coaching part of the programme.
The results have been impressive. 18% more Microsoft employees understand their career options within the company, and career confidence rose by 14% among participants. 38% more employees can define the next step in their career, and 13% more feel confident to apply for an internal job.
The coaching approach, designed to unlock employees' full potential, has led to significant improvements. Career conversations with managers improved by 15%. Participants gained greater awareness of available resources (+16%), understanding of internal options (+16%), and confidence to apply for new roles (+13%).
EZRA ran 13,704 individual coaching sessions, an average of 430 a week across 80 countries, for the 4,816 Microsoft employees. These sessions are supplemented with exercises and advice held on Microsoft Teams, an added element which 83% of people are finding valuable.
The programme, designed by EZRA to make career development the primary reason for employees to stay at Microsoft, has been a resounding success. Core career behaviours increased by 34% among participants, including a 51% increase in the ability to define career steps and a 37% increase in articulating goals.
