Manitoba Invites 8 Overseas Workers with Strong Ties in Strategic Draw

Last week, Manitoba's Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held a strategic recruitment draw, inviting 8 candidates from outside Canada with strong ties to the province. The lowest-ranked candidate scored 626 points.

The MPNP's Skilled Workers Overseas stream offers a pathway to permanent residency for qualified foreign workers. To be eligible, candidates must score at least 60 points on Manitoba's assessment grid and have an established connection to the province, such as family ties, previous education or work experience, or an Invitation to Apply from the MPNP.

In this draw, only candidates with a valid Express Entry profile number and job validation code were considered. These candidates were directly invited by the MPNP under strategic recruitment initiatives, which help local employers fill labour gaps by recruiting qualified foreign talent. Employers must meet specific criteria and complete Manitoba's ABC Recruitment process to participate in these initiatives.

On May 15, 62 candidates received Letters of Advice to apply for provincial nomination. Of these, 8 candidates were invited through the MPNP's strategic recruitment initiative. Those not invited through this initiative can still qualify for the Skilled Worker Overseas stream by meeting the general eligibility criteria set by the MPNP.
