Freiburg Chamber of Crafts Welcomes Proposal to Double Michael's Premium
The Freiburg Chamber of Crafts has expressed its support for a proposal to double Michael's premium, a financial support of 1,500 euros awarded by the state of Baden-Württemberg to master craftsmen. This proposal, made by CDU politician Manuel Hagel, aims to increase the premium to 3,000 euros in the next legislative period, with the intention of supporting master craftsmen in their path to self-employment and counteracting the shortage of skilled workers.
Christof Burger, President of the Freiburg Chamber of Crafts, has stated that Michael's premium is an important sign of recognition. This year, the Chamber has approved a total of 500,000 euros in Michael's premiums, with particularly many awards going to motor vehicle technicians, electrical engineers, and heating engineers. As of the time of this article, 335 applications for Michael's premiums have been positively decided.
Michael's premium is designed to aid master craftsmen, encouraging self-employment and addressing the skilled labour shortage. If the proposal to double the premium is implemented, it could provide even greater support to those pursuing a career as a master craftsman.
Interested applicants can apply for Michael's premium through the website www.hwk-freiburg.de/meisterpraemie. It is worth noting that applications can be made retroactively.
The Freiburg Chamber of Crafts warmly welcomes this proposal and looks forward to its potential implementation in the future. It is hoped that such measures will help to further support and recognise the valuable work of master craftsmen in Baden-Württemberg.
