Kazakhstan's Plan for Cultivating an Ecological Mindset by 2025
2025 Eco-Culture Revolution in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is gunning for a greener future, initiating a new cultural movement that emphasizes environmental preservation and social engagement. Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva declared this at a government meeting, as our news site reported.
A significant aspect of this movement is hosting large-scale eco-events to spawn a culture of sustainability. The Taza-like project will provide a venue for sharing experiences and brainstorming solutions to environmental concerns. It will unite public organizations, scientists, and concerned citizens in every corner of the country, following Nauryz and lasting until April 25. The project's grand finale will be an immense eco-festival in Nur-Sultan. The Ayala Art Festival is also planned, focusing on collecting creative ideas from schoolchildren and youth to shed light on environmental issues.
Another critical area of focus is environmental education. Apart from traditional information and educational activities, cutting-edge technological solutions will be employed. For instance, an "Eco-events" tab will be added to E-gov and banking applications to keep the population informed about environmental events. The "Eco-hubs" project, based on youth resource centers, will expand. The "Green School" project will gain 500,000 schoolchildren and over 3 million parents and relatives.
Eco-behavior will be encouraged both domestically and internationally. The plogging movement (an ecological practice combining running and waste collection) along the Caspian Sea shore, with participation from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and other countries, is planned.
Republican actions continue for public eco-monitoring and the creation of eco-patrols, involving public councils, civil society, businesses, educational institutions, media, and volunteers.
