Job Preparation Workshops: Sharpening Skills for Job Interviews

In a collaborative effort with schools across the region, the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration-funded mentoring project has been supporting young people for almost 15 years. The project, coordinated by Anika Voigt and Brigitte Vogler, offers individualised support to young people in their search for apprenticeships.

The project's volunteer professional mentors serve as experienced, competent, and empathetic conversation partners for the young people. They provide valuable and helpful feedback on application documents and personal appearance, helping to prepare them for the job market.

Recently, a "Fit for the Job Interview" training was held at the Elisabeth-Selbert School in Zierenberg, where 10 volunteer mentors participated and 64 students had the opportunity to practice job interviews for apprenticeships.

The young people appreciate the mentors, as shown in feedback like "I've never had a job interview before. It's good to know how something like this works, and I know what I can improve."

This year, over 400 young people have benefited from the mentoring project's training offer, more than ever before. The mentors enjoy their commitment and regularly undergo further training to meet contemporary and target group-oriented requirements.

For more information about the mentoring project, you can contact Brigitte Vogler at 0561 1003-1275 or [email protected]. The mentors and coordinators are dedicated to helping young people in their journey towards a successful future.
