Job Center for Young Adults based in Neuss, Rhine region
In a significant move to enhance employment and support opportunities for young people in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, the Jugendberufsagentur (JBA) has been established. This youth employment agency aims to provide centralized, coordinated advice and assistance to school students and those seeking to enter the workforce.
The JBA is a collaborative effort involving the cities of Neuss, Grevenbroich, Dormagen, Kaarst, Meerbusch, Korschenbroich, Jüchen, and the municipality of Rommerskirchen. The contract signing was attended by Landrat Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke and Kreisdirektor Dirk Brügge.
Rather than adding new staff, the JBA will leverage the existing resources of the Employment Agency, Job Center, and Youth Welfare Offices. By networking these institutions more closely, the JBA will offer a single point of contact for comprehensive discussions of concerns, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and creating a more efficient framework for youth employment guidance.
The JBA will conduct joint activities to raise awareness of available offers for young people, offering pop-up stores or counseling events. School social workers can request support from the JBA without having to determine responsibilities beforehand and find a suitable specialist office.
The JBA's services are flexible, catering to individuals up to 29 years old. It will serve as a central point of contact for young people without major barriers, regardless of whether they are seeking a training position, receiving benefits, dealing with addiction issues, or needing a kindergarten place.
The JBA will coordinate and intermesh diverse support options for young people, providing easily accessible consultation and support. The involved parties aim to intensify their cooperation and improve the JBA's infrastructure, with all offices having access to a common network to avoid duplicate structures.
Sabine Hustedt, managing director of the Jobcenter Rhein-Kreis Neuss, is a key figure in the establishment of the Jugendberufsagentur. Rainer Imkamp, chairman of the management board of the Agentur für Arbeit in Mönchengladbach, is also involved in the establishment of the JBA.
The Communal KAoA Coordination Office organizes regular round tables with the Employment Agency, Job Center, and Youth Welfare Offices to establish and enhance desired cooperation and resulting structures. The JBA is established under the KAoA umbrella, with schools being involved in the process.
The JBA will provide a contact person for all young people's problems in the Rhein-Kreis, enhancing accessibility of support for young people within the Rhein-Kreis Neuss region. By streamlining youth employment and support services, the JBA aims to prevent youth unemployment and promote smooth transitions from school to work.
- The Jugendberufsagentur (JBA) will not only offer employment guidance to school students and those entering the workforce, but it will also cater to young individuals with diverse needs, such as those seeking training positions, facing addiction issues, or requiring kindergarten places.
- In addition to focusing on employment, the JBA will also coordinate efforts for education-and-self-development, sports, and general-news, providing a single point of contact for young people within the Rhein-Kreis Neuss region to ensure easy accessibility to a variety of support services, thereby promoting a smooth transition from school to work and tackling youth unemployment.
