iRIF-2025: Germany & Kazakhstan Strengthen Energy Efficiency Ties

The interregional forum 'iRIF-2025: Energy Efficiency, IIoT and Intelligent Energy Management' concluded in Almaty, Kazakhstan, bringing together representatives from science, education, and industry from Germany and Kazakhstan. The event was organized by Anhalt University of Applied Sciences with support from the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Energy (BMFTR), DAAD, and Energo University in Almaty. Notably, the forum began with the welcome of the first Kazakh students of Anhalt International University (AIU).

The forum featured speeches by the president of Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Jörg Bagdahn, and other dignitaries. It also included a scientific-practical conference focused on energy efficiency, IIoT, and intelligent energy management. Industrial excursions were held to energy plants and production facilities in Almaty and the Almaty region, providing practical insights into the themes discussed.

Anhalt International University (AIU) offers English-language bachelor's programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. Students receive two degrees - a German and a Kazakh one - and can receive state scholarships. The forum marked a significant step in further expanding the partnership between Germany and Kazakhstan in applied engineering education, energy efficiency, and digital measurement technologies.

The successful conclusion of the 'iRIF-2025' forum signals a strengthening of academic and industrial ties between Germany and Kazakhstan. With AIU welcoming its first Kazakh students, the future of this partnership looks promising, poised to yield innovative solutions in energy efficiency and intelligent energy management.
