Development program for municipal cadre managers, part of Mayor's School at the Presidential Academy, was conducted at 'Russia - Country of Opportunities' platform within Master of Management Center 'Senezh'. The previous day saw the graduation ceremony, where certificates were handed to the successful participants.

Hop on board as we delve into the sixth session of the vibrant municipal leadership training program, dubbed the "School of Mayors," held at the Masterskaya Management Center, under the auspices of the "Russia - Country of Opportunities" presidential platform. A Diploma-awarding ceremony took place the day prior, celebrating the achievements of the graduates.

According to Alexei Komissarov, the academy's Rector, this innovative program serves as a cutting-edge management school for those determined to enrich people's lives. Currently, 47 individuals gracing their respective positions with increased responsibility.

This time around, approximately 160 eager participants from age 26 to 60, hailing from 82 regions, took part in two cohorts. Over the course of the program, the School organized practical sessions in 10 Russian regions: Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Kaluga, Novgorod, Samara, and Moscow Oblasts, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, the Chechen Republic, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and Moscow. The objective was to acquaint participants with top-notch regional practices for eventual application and adaptation in their represented municipalities.

Yevgeny Grachev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration's Internal Policy Department, commented on the occasion as follows: "The 'School of Mayors' is a response to the municipal community's request to the President and was launched at his instruction. The training aims to allow participants to apply their acquired knowledge and implement new successful practices in the municipalities they serve, thereby streamlining local issue-resolution processes and enhancing life quality."

Expertise from federal ministries and agencies, regional and municipal heads, and professors from the Presidential Academy Higher School of Governance were all on board to impart knowledge on national development goals, modern management methods, operational efficiency, team dynamics, strategic planning, municipal economics and finance, municipal management, and territorial development.

Through team-building events, strategic improvementsarly identified across 30 areas, riveting walking tours with mayors, and a grand exploration of 30,000 kilometers, the School of Mayors program seeks to nurture emerging municipal leaders capable of embracing the challenges of the digital age, discovering innovative solutions, and honing political leadership skills.

Irina Gusueva, VARMUS Co-chair, emphasized the importance of the "School of Mayors" educational project: "Confronted with a swiftly evolving world, the digital era, and new challenges, municipal leaders are in search of enhanced competencies, innovative solutions, and leadership skills. Through 'Municipal Dialogue,' we gather their feedback and recognize the 'School of Mayors' as a catalyst for many successful leaders. Arguably, it is an invaluable tool in shaping competent municipal managers driven to develop their hometowns and provide a superior quality of life in their respective municipalities."
