Government encourages integration by offering training in healthcare and textile industries
In the city of Regensburg, the Integrationsbeirat (Integration Advisory Council) is leading an ambitious job integration programme for migrants and refugees. The council, in collaboration with local businesses and institutions, is providing targeted training and employment opportunities to help integrate migrants into the local job market.
The programme has seen success with several initiatives, including visits to various companies in different sectors. Four migrant individuals recently explored prospects in the textile industry at Fahnen Kößinger company in Schierling. These visits were organized by Mahinar Sweid, the Education Acquisition Manager, who has been instrumental in facilitating these encounters.
Mrs. Sweid can be reached at 0941 4009-8407 for more information about the programme. The economic promoter of the district, Roland Weiß, has also played a key role in establishing contacts with institutions and companies. Mr. Weiß can be reached at 0941 4009-593 or via email at [email protected].
The district's measures for integrating refugees into the job market are diverse and proactive. They include 80-cent jobs, job dating events, a job fair for foreign auxiliary and service staff, and proactive integration into the workforce.
Christian Scheuerer, from the management of a retirement home, views these opportunities positively, stating that they offer promising prospects for employee recruitment, as promoted by the district's economic promotion. Jasmin Wagner, team leader of embroidery at Fahnen Kößinger, shares this sentiment, expressing her satisfaction with this form of employee recruitment, as there is always a shortage of skilled workers and trainees.
Davis Fries, from the management of a blind institute, also views these opportunities positively, highlighting the great need in the care sector that can be addressed through such formats. Tanja Schweiger, the district administrator, is proud to be able to offer new opportunities to participants while simultaneously supporting the companies in the district.
Tanja Schweiger emphasises that through targeted training offers in the care sector, they are creating prospects for the participants and strengthening the skilled workforce base in their region. She further states that the training of migrants is a crucial step towards integration and securing skilled workers in their region.
The organisation remains committed to continuing the integration of migrants through targeted training and employment offers in the Regensburg region. The programme includes access to the labor market for migrants and refugees with disabilities, further demonstrating its inclusivity and commitment to providing opportunities for all.
