IKK Südwest Kicks Off New Training Year with 21 New Apprentices
IKK Südwest, one of the largest health insurers in Germany with over 1,500 employees, is committed to prevention, health promotion, and future-oriented regional healthcare. The organisation, which operates in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland, has announced the beginning of its training year 2025 with 21 new apprentices.
The new recruits will be trained across seven locations, as part of IKK Südwest's dedication to nurturing local talent. The training programs on offer include social insurance specialist, health care manager, dialogue marketing, and a dual study program in health economics.
Professor Dr. Jörg Loth, CEO of IKK Southwest, emphasises the importance of welcoming new motivated colleagues. "Young talents are crucial drivers for the implementation of our digitalization strategy and the development of new innovative products," adds Daniel Schilling, board colleague of Professor Dr. Jörg Loth.
IKK Südwest's approach to talent development mirrors that of other regional healthcare entities worldwide. Like the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC) in Southwest Alaska, IKK Südwest may focus on developing local healthcare talent through targeted training programs, supporting healthcare workforce growth, promoting culturally appropriate healthcare, and impacting regional healthcare by improving access and quality through empowered, well-trained providers.
The new apprentices at IKK Südwest will be offered a special program for the first week that combines information with interaction. This is part of IKK Südwest's sustainable personnel policy, as demonstrated by the successful completion of apprentices and their subsequent takeover.
IKK Südwest offers customer service at 19 customer centers throughout the region and a 24/7 service hotline. One of the new trainees, David, has made a career change into the health sector at IKK Südwest due to the diverse and practical training opportunities.
