Genius Armoury High Schools' Edition Launches Nov 18, Inspiring Cybersecurity Careers

The Genius Armoury High Schools' Edition, a new cybersecurity awareness initiative, is set to launch on Friday 18 November 2022 at the Quantum Victoria STEM Conference. This online platform aims to inspire high school students to explore career options and further education in cybersecurity.

Developed by Untapped Holdings in collaboration with Quantum Victoria, Trident, and Cyberstronomy, with partial funding from AustCyber's Projects Fund, the High Schools' Edition comprises three video-based modules. These are accompanied by multiple-choice knowledge checks and exercises, taking approximately three hours to complete.

The platform's creators envision it as a complement to existing STEM programs, accessible even in remote locations. Director of Quantum Victoria, Soula Bennett, praised its flexibility. Group Executive of AustCyber, Jason Murrell, sees it as a means to tackle the cyber skills shortage by encouraging more students into the field. CEO of Untapped Holdings, Andrew Eddy, believes it could lead participants to pursue further education or employment programs in cybersecurity.

The Genius Armoury High Schools' Edition offers a completion certificate upon satisfactory completion of all modules. Genius Armoury is now seeking partnerships with educational institutions and employers to create pathways to cybersecurity courses and develop talent acquisition strategies. The launch of this platform marks a significant step in fostering cybersecurity awareness and interest among high school students.
