Tomsk, April 28 - RIA Tomsk. The Prosecutor's Office has launched a case against the management of the "Integration" school in Tomsk, where a student brought a knife to class, a case of administrative offenses under Article COAP RF "Violation of requirements for anti-terrorist security of objects"; it has been established that the metal detector at the school entrance was faulty, and on the day of the incident, the security guard was late for work, the press service of the regional Prosecutor's Office announced on Monday.

Earlier it was reported that on April 8, 2025, a 10th-grade student at the "Integration" school in Tomsk cut himself with a knife. According to the preliminary data, the student went to the blackboard before class and attempted to strike himself with a knife he had brought from home, but luckily, the teacher managed to prevent it, only cutting his hand. The student was given medical assistance, and he was handed over to medical personnel.

"The Prosecutor's Office of Tomsk has initiated the call for administrative accountability of the management of the "Integration" school for the incident involving the student... It has been discovered that the educational institution does not control the work of the entrance control system. During the prosecutor's examination, the metal detector at the entrance was faulty," the statement said.

Additionally, there were no manual metal detectors or control-access points at the entrance to the school's territory. Moreover, on the day when the 10th-grader brought a knife to class, the security guard was late for work, violating the terms of the contract for providing security services. It has also been established that the school did not conduct preventive work with the student who brought the knife.

The Prosecutor's Office of the region has made statements to the educational institution and the private security company, and a case has been initiated against the school's management for administrative offenses under Article COAP RF "Violation of requirements for anti-terrorist security of objects" (penalties are up to 5,000 rubles for citizens, up to 50,000 - for officials, up to 500,000 - for legal entities).

As a representative of the regional Prosecutor's Office told RIA Tomsk, a statement has been made against the acting director of "Integration," while a case has been opened against the deputy director for comprehensive security.

Schools in Russia are subject to strict security regulations, including anti-terrorist security measures, which require educational institutions to ensure that students do not bring prohibited items onto school premises to prevent potential threats or violence within educational settings. If a school fails to comply with these requirements, it can face administrative charges for violating these regulations.
