St Peter's Preparatory School has announced scholarships for Year 6 students seeking entry into Year 7. The scholarships are available in Academic, Sport, Music, Performing Arts, Art & Design, and All Rounder categories.

Academic Scholarships are open to all applicants, whether they are day or boarding pupils, and are awarded on academic merit and potential. All scholars, regardless of their scholarship discipline, are expected to maintain high academic standards.

Art & Design Scholarship candidates are required to present a portfolio that showcases their personal creativity, passion for art and design, and a range of media they have explored. They will also be expected to present work journals and sketchbooks.

Performing Arts Scholarship candidates should demonstrate their talents in at least two disciplines from music, drama, or improvisation. Music Scholarship candidates will be asked to play one piece on their first instrument, one piece on their second, and sing a favourite song. They will also be tested on scales and arpeggios, sight reading, and aural tests.

Sports scholarships are awarded to pupils who show leadership, excellence, and a positive attitude in more than one sport, including a team sport. The assessment for Sports Scholarships includes SAQ Testing, Specific Game Skills, and an interview with the Director of Sports. Sports scholarships are open to applicants from outside the School as boarding pupils.

All Rounder Scholarships are awarded to candidates who are high academic achievers and achieve scholarship standard in two of the following subjects: Art, Drama, Music, or Sport. They should be a genuine 'all-rounder' with real evidence of potential leadership.

Scholarships at St Peter's are for the entirety of a child's time at the school, subject to suitable progress. Scholarships carry a fee discount, with up to 30% for major scholarships and 10% for minor scholarships. Means-tested bursaries are available for those who cannot afford school fees.

The closing date for all applications is Monday 15 January 2018. Candidates may apply for a maximum of two disciplines (excluding academic). The entrance examination for Academic & All Rounder Scholars is on 22 January 2018, and assessments for Sport/Music & Performing Arts/Art & Design are on 22 and 23 January 2018.

Music Scholarship candidates should be at approximately Grade 3 standard in their first instrument and Grade 1 in any second instrument.
