Exam for Olympic champions not deemed necessary for revocation by Rosobnadzor.
Cruising Past the 80-Point Threshold: Olympiad Winners' Ease with EGÉ
Anzor Muzaev, the big cheese at Rosobrnadzor, ain't buying the idea that Olympiad prodigies struggle with the EGÉ. He reckons it's hogwash, stating in an interview with Russia-24 that these high-achievers usually ace the exam. TASS reports the news.
"There's this urban legend about some gifted kid who can't handle the EGÉ. But let me tell ya, our top Olympiad champs are aces. They breeze past the 80-point threshold with ease. We haven't received a single complaint from them," Muzaev explained.
The idea to cut Olympiad winners some slack by letting them skip the EGÉ and OGÉ surfaced from the "Fair Russia - For Truth" faction of State Duma deputies. The proposal's now on the table in the State Duma.
Back in the day, Rosobrnadzor voiced their interest in revising the EGÉ but noted that nixing it outright calls for a solid backup plan, something they're yet to discover.
## EGÉ Skepticism in State Duma: Are Olympiad Winners Exempt?
It's no secret that discussions about the EGÉ's future have been lingering for some time now, with critics questioning its effectiveness and fairness. However, recent statements from Rosobrnadzor on the potential alteration or abolition of the EGÉ are hard to come by, as debates within the State Duma persist.
- Anzor Muzaev of Rosobrnadzor disputes the common myth that Olympiad winners struggle with the EGÉ, asserting they typically score above 80 points.
- The idea of exempting Olympiad winners from the EGÉ and OGÉ, proposed by the "Fair Russia - For Truth" faction of State Duma deputies, is currently under consideration.
- Despite previous suggestions from Rosobrnadzor to revise the EGÉ, abolishing it altogether necessitates a well-thought-out backup plan, a solution yet to be found.
- Although discussions regarding the future of the EGÉ have been ongoing, recent pronouncements from Rosobrnadzor regarding possible changes or abolition of the exam are scarce, as State Duma debates persist.
