Event Schedule: Open House Day and Snack Day
Herford, Germany - The circle of Herford is hosting open days for five of its vocational colleges, offering young people a chance to explore and experience the educational offerings first-hand. The open days will take place on November 7th and 8th, providing an opportunity for students and parents to gain insights into the various educational focuses and programmes available.
On Saturday, 8th November, the Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg, located at Hermannstraße 9, Herford, will be open from 9 to 12 o'clock. The college offers educational focuses in Health and Sport, Education and Social, Supply and Nutrition, Design, and Dual Training. The Wilhelm-Normann-Berufskolleg, situated at Hermannstraße 5, Herford, will also be open on the same day, offering a glimpse into its focuses in Design, Construction and Wood, Agriculture and Nutrition.
The Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg, located at Hermannstraße 7, Herford, will open its doors on the 8th as well, with a focus on Economy and Administration. The Erich-Gutenberg-Berufskolleg, offering educational focuses in Economy and Administration, will be open on the 7th, from 13 to 17 o'clock, located at Wedekindstraße 30-38, Bünde.
The Berufskolleg für Bau und Holz, a vocational college with a special focus on construction and timber construction, will also be open on the 8th, giving visitors an opportunity to learn about their offerings. The August-Griese-Berufskolleg, located at Jahnstraße 54, Löhne, will open its doors on the 7th, from 14 to 17 o'clock.
The August-Griese-Berufskolleg also offers full-time educational programs in Information and Machine Technology, and vocational training in the dual system in the areas of Electrical, Motor Vehicle, Plastic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Sanitary, Heating and Air Conditioning, and Information Technology.
To register for the open days, interested individuals can do so through their school or independently on the respective websites of the vocational colleges. Trial days will also be held between November 24th and 27th, where young people can participate in classes and get a concrete impression of the educational offerings.
The vocational colleges under the sponsorship of the circle Herford are reliable partners for dual training with numerous companies, both within and outside the circle Herford. They convey job-related knowledge and skills in the fields of construction, fashion, IT, and design. The colleges also provide the opportunity to acquire or expand professional knowledge in various fields such as social assistant, building technology assistant, and higher commercial school alongside academic content.
The five vocational colleges offer continuous and interconnected educational programs that allow for the acquisition and completion of general education diplomas, ranging from the first school leaving certificate to the Fachoberschulreife and up to the professional Abitur. The August-Griese-Berufskolleg will continue on-site lessons during the planned new construction work, which is expected to begin at the end of 2026.
