Promoting Democracy through Beer Mats in Lünen
In Lünen, a unique initiative is underway to foster discussions about democratic values and social cohesion. The "Partnership for Democracy Lünen" is spearheading this project, which is a part of the federal "Democracy lives!" program supported by the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth.
The project, led by Horst Engel and Christa Damschen, involves the development of beer mats themed around democracy. These mats, designed in collaboration with the University of Münster and the "University of the Third Age," serve as a tool to encourage citizens to discuss democratic values and social cohesion in public places, such as restaurants, event venues, and public facilities.
The "Partnership for Democracy Lünen" supports projects promoting a diverse, respectful, and democratic society. This includes workshops, discussion events, public actions, or creative projects that strengthen democratic values. The organisation is funded by the federal "Democracy lives!" program and is committed to supporting projects and initiatives that promote a democratic society.
If you have an idea for an individual measure that aligns with these goals, you can submit your application by October 5. For more information about the "Partnership for Democracy Lünen" and the application process, please visit www.our-website/democracy-lives.
