Electric vehicle charging provider IONNA rolls out EV charging stations at Wawa outlets across Florida

In a groundbreaking move, convenience store chain Wawa and IONNA, a joint venture charging network founded by eight major automakers, have announced a partnership to expand EV services. This collaboration marks IONNA's largest EV charging commitment to date and is part of its goal to install 30,000 fast charging bays across North America by 2030.

The partnership sees Wawa's ongoing expansion into EV services, with a focus on providing a one-stop solution for fresh food, beverages, and EV charging. The first IONNA Rechargery at Wawa is now open near the International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, with additional sites under construction in Bradenton, Pensacola, and Orlando. This collaboration contributes to IONNA's total of 212 live and 3,064 contracted bays, representing over 10% of its 2030 goal.

At these locations, IONNA Rechargeries will feature ultra-fast charging with 400-kilowatt Genuine Charge Dispensers to support rapid EV charging. To ensure a comfortable charging experience, these stations will also offer canopy coverage to protect drivers from the elements. In addition, car care amenities will be available to enhance the charging experience, while customers can enjoy Wawa's in-store offerings, including fresh food, beverages, and other convenience store services.

"We are thrilled to provide customers with a one-stop solution for fresh food, beverages, and EV charging," said Rich Makin, Chief Fuel Officer of Wawa. Seth Cutler, CEO of IONNA, added, "Reaching this key milestone with Wawa allows drivers to charge with ease and in comfort."

This collaboration not only expands IONNA's charging network but also enhances Wawa's EV infrastructure, providing a convenient one-stop experience for EV owners with charging and retail services. The collaboration between Wawa and IONNA aims to offer customers speed, convenience, fresh food, beverages, and EV charging, making it easier than ever for EV owners to fuel up and grab a bite to eat.
