Eighty workers at "Almazov Anabar" have been assigned new occupations.

In the heart of Russia's diamond industry, the Alrosa company is making strides in skill development and sustainability. The ongoing "Pathway to Life" program, a joint initiative with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industry and Geology of Yakutia, has seen 80 employees master new professions, with another 45 set to join them this year.

The program, which will continue until 2027, offers opportunities for specialists to acquire a diverse range of professions. While some have chosen to study open-pit mining or retrain as mining engineers and mechanics in universities, others have opted for vocational schools to become electricians, KIPiA adjusters, electric and gas welders, turners, surveyors, and more.

One such employee is YURIY ALGANAEV, a mechanic at the "MOLODO" prospecting unit within Alrosa. Holding a higher education in "Mining Engineer-Mechanic", YURIY has furthered his career through the program, studying open-pit mining to enhance his skills.

The program's objectives extend beyond personal development. Alrosa aims to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by the year 2027, a goal that will undoubtedly require the expertise of its skilled workforce.

The "Almaznyi Krai" media company recently reported on this development, highlighting the program's commitment to both employee empowerment and environmental sustainability. As the program continues, it is clear that Alrosa is not only investing in its employees but also in a greener future.
