Durham School Services Earns Praise, Extends AAPS Partnership to 2028
Durham School Services has kicked off the new school year successfully, earning praise from both its management and Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS). The company, which has been dedicated to student safety for over a century, has extended its partnership with AAPS until 2028.
Renae Pickel, General Manager of Durham School Services, expressed pride in the team's successful start to the school year. The company, along with its sister brands, is committed to student safety and has been serving communities for over 100 years. Durham was recommended by the review committee after submitting a proposal in response to AAPS' request for proposals.
Liz Margolis, Executive Director of School Safety & District Operations at AAPS, praised Durham's partnership and service. AAPS started the new school year with safe transportation provided by Durham School Services. The partnership extension includes plans to transition AAPS' bus fleet to electric vehicles (EV), aiming to reduce emissions and promote sustainability. Durham has consistently received the Michigan State Police Certificate of Excellence for school bus safety inspections, reflecting its commitment to safety and quality service. Currently, Durham School Services runs 112 routes and transports over 5,000 students daily for AAPS.
Durham School Services' dedication to student safety and quality service has been recognized and rewarded with a partnership extension until 2028. The company looks forward to continuing its successful collaboration with AAPS, including plans to transition to electric vehicles, and ensuring safe transportation for all students.
