Dubai's New 'Employee to Entrepreneur' Programme Aims to Transform Startup Landscape
Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) has launched the 'Employee to Entrepreneur Programme', aiming to empower employees to start their own businesses. The programme, aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, supports the national campaign 'The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World' led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The first edition of the programme has attracted innovative proposals across technology, mobility, healthcare, and design sectors. Participants gain access to DIEZ's infrastructure, licensing services, and support from Oraseya Capital, SANDBOX, Scality, and Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus (Dtec). The programme is structured in three phases: idea development, planning and model building, and launch and expansion. Ideas are evaluated based on economic feasibility, scalability, strategic relevance, and social impact. The initiative aims to foster an entrepreneurial culture in Dubai and contribute to the UAE's knowledge-based economy.
The 'Employee to Entrepreneur Programme' by DIEZ is set to transform Dubai's entrepreneurial landscape. By providing resources and support, it empowers employees to turn their ideas into successful businesses, contributing to the UAE's vision of becoming a global startup hub and establishing 30 unicorn companies by 2030.
