The German Social Union (SoVD) has expressed concerns about educational inequality in Germany and has proposed specific measures to combat the issue. Michaela Engelmeier, the CEO of the SoVD, has been vocal about the need for a more diverse and inclusive educational environment in the country.

Engelmeier believes that the educational success of students in Germany is heavily influenced by their parents' wealth, a situation she finds unacceptable. She urges politics to stop watching and take action to address this persistent issue.

In her comments, made in the Sunday editions of the Funke media group, Engelmeier advocates for a comprehensive educational reform. This reform would aim to ensure equal opportunities for all students in Germany by improving the quality of teaching and learning resources in schools.

However, the SoVD does not appear to have publicly detailed specific initiatives directly targeting educational equity related to school starting times across German federal states. The organisation's known activities mostly focus on social issues more broadly, such as healthcare improvements and patient advocacy.

Rising costs of school materials like books and writing supplies could indirectly affect educational equity, but no direct SoVD interventions addressing these cost issues at school start times were found.

The SoVD is calling for a national education pact to address educational inequality in Germany. Engelmeier believes that politics in Germany has not taken sufficient action to address this issue and is urging the German government to take immediate action.

The start of school in several German federal states has already occurred, and it remains to be seen whether the SoVD's calls for action will lead to meaningful change in the educational landscape of the country.

Engelmeier's call for a national education pact falls under the umbrella of education-and-self-development, aiming to encourage more action against educational inequality in Germany. The SoVD, in its efforts to ensure equal opportunities, advocates for a comprehensive educational reform that includes improving teaching quality and learning resources (education-and-self-development).
