CTEVT announces scholarship opportunities for Pre-Diploma Level students in the academic year 2082

The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has announced the Classified Scholarship for Pre-Diploma Level 2082/083 in Nepal, a merit-based opportunity for students to access technical education. Here's a breakdown of the eligibility criteria, application process, and key points for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CTEVT Classified Scholarship, candidates must have passed the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) or its equivalent from a recognized institution. They must also meet the minimum academic performance requirements, which are a 68.33% aggregate mark in related Technical SLC/Pre-Diploma or a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Students from government or community schools receive an additional 1 GPA point added to their score to enhance their merit ranking. Candidates who appeared for all subjects in SEE and obtained Non Graded (NG) can also apply. The merit list is primarily based on SEE grade points, with tie-breakers decided by grades in Mathematics, Science, and English, and then by factors like backward region residency and age.

Application Process

Applications for the CTEVT Classified Scholarship are submitted through a Unified Online Application System managed by CTEVT. Required documents must be attached to the online application to avoid rejection, including a certified copy of Citizenship Certificate or Birth Registration Certificate for minors, certified copies of academic transcripts, Migration and Equivalency Certificate (if applicable), a recent passport-sized photograph, Migration proof from local authority if the applicant has relocated recently, and other necessary documents.

Merit lists are published based on application scores derived from GPA and additional weighted points for school type. No traditional entrance exam is conducted; admissions are made strictly through merit based on academic results.

Key Points

  • Students from community schools get a merit advantage (1 mark added).
  • Tie-breaker preferences favor backward/difficult region students and older candidates.
  • Scholarship covers free tuition for eligible pre-diploma and diploma level programs.
  • Application deadlines and notices are announced by CTEVT each year, and applicants must follow the specified submission timelines and procedures closely.
  • Candidates recommended for the classified (free) scholarship will not be allowed to change their program later.
  • The distribution of scholarships will be maintained as per the details of institutions approved by the respective divisions and TECS directorate.

This structured merit and documentation-based process aims to support students, especially those from marginalized communities, in accessing technical education scholarships under CTEVT for the 2082/083 academic year.

Applicants eligible for the Targeted Group will also be automatically considered under the General Group. Scholarships will be awarded based on the General Group and Targeted Group, with the General Group comprising 100% of the seats and the Targeted Group having reserved percentages for various groups such as Women, Dalit, Indigenous Nationalities, Khas Arya, Madhesi, Tharu, Muslim, Individuals from Backward Areas, Persons with Disabilities, Families of Martyrs, Families of Disappeared Persons, Families of Injured Fighters, and Conflict-Affected Individuals.

The total number of seats for the scholarships across all programs is 1215, with seats distributed across various provinces and programs. Applicants who received a Non-Graded (NG) result in the SEE exam are also eligible to apply for pre-diploma level programs. Incomplete or fake documents will result in automatic rejection of the application. Eligible applicants are Nepali citizens who passed the SLC/SEE from government or community schools.
