Volunteers Needed for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Kansas City
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming to the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and Kansas City is one of the host cities. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, and volunteers are needed to help make the event a success.
The World Cup in Kansas City will host four group stage matches, a round of 32 match, and a quarterfinal match. If you are interested in volunteering, you can register at volunteer.fifa.com/register.
To be eligible, volunteers must be 18 years of age or older before September 15, commit to at least nine 8-hour shifts between June and July 2026, comply with the entry requirements of the host country, and pass a background review. Volunteers must speak English, but speaking more than one language is a plus.
Training for volunteers will take place from April to June 2026, and selected volunteers will be required to attend in-person interviews and training in the city they are volunteering. In other news, Park University has been recognized for its commitment to character-driven athletics. The Parkville Campus was honored at the gold level and earned a perfect 100 score, making it the second straight year for the Pirates to receive a perfect score. The Gilbert Campus was honored at the silver level.
The NAIA's Champions of Character program represents five core character values - respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. Under the leadership of Jordan Brown, sports information director of the Parkville (Mo.) Campus, multi-camera setups are now a mainstay at Parkville Campus athletic events.
Twenty-seven Park University Parkville (Mo.) Campus student-athletes in spring sports earned 2025 NAIA Academic All-District honors. The Parkville Campus and Gilbert (Ariz.) Campus of Park University were recognized as 2024-25 NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star institutions.
