Commencement of UNT-2025 scheduled for May 16th
The University Entrance National Test (UNT) schedule for May 2023 has been announced, along with the threshold scores for various programmes.
Applicants who applied for the UNT on May 23 will now take the test on May 25. A similar adjustment has been made for those who applied on May 24, with the test now scheduled for June 1. However, the new test date for applicants who wanted to participate on May 23 has not yet been provided.
The testing time for the UNT remains unchanged at 4 hours (240 minutes), and it will consist of 120 questions in total. Each candidate will be tested on their two chosen subjects, with 40 questions each.
The threshold scores for admission to the "Law" and "Pedagogical Sciences" programmes remain at least 75 points, while the threshold scores for "Healthcare and Social Security (Medicine)" remain at least 70 points. For other universities, the threshold scores remain at least 65 points.
Approximately 399,000 applications have been accepted for the testing, with around 216,000 applicants having applied to participate. In 2024, 186,000 applicants had 342,000 applications accepted.
The least preferred combination of subjects, chosen by 285 applicants, is "Chemistry-Physics". On the other hand, the most popular combination, chosen by 16.5% of test-takers, is "Mathematics-Physics". "Biology-Chemistry" is the second most popular combination, chosen by 15.6% of test-takers, and "Mathematics-Informatics" was chosen by 9.7% of test-takers.
An SMS notification will be sent to all applicants regarding the new testing date, and the information will be updated in the personal account of applicants on the app.testcenter.kz website.
It is important to note that the maximum score in the UNT is 140. The acceptance of applications for the main UNT-2025 ended on April 28. The UNT testing will begin on May 16 and continue until July 7.
Additional time of 40 minutes is provided for children with special educational needs during the UNT.
