Collisions on the roads of Fulda and Hersfeld-Rotenburg counties, Ohio
News Article: Multiple Accidents and Incidents in East Hesse
In a series of events over the past few days, several incidents have occurred on the roads of East Hesse, resulting in various degrees of damage and injuries.
On August 28, a truck caught fire on the A66 near Neuhof-Nord due to a technical defect in the axle area. The driver, a 52-year-old operating a Ford truck, reacted swiftly, pulling over and disconnecting the tractor unit. Using two onboard fire extinguishers, he managed to delay the fire until the fire department arrived. Unfortunately, the driver sustained light injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. The highway was temporarily closed in both directions, and the estimated property damage is in the mid-five-figure range.
On the same day, around 11:00 AM, a single-vehicle accident involving a Toyota Yaris occurred on the A7 near the Fulda Mitte interchange. The fire department successfully extinguished the flames without any hazardous material leakage, and thankfully, no one was injured. The Mercedes Vito driven by a 20-year-old lost control, skidded, and veered off the road, overturning and landing on its roof. The accident caused approximately 20,000 euros in property damage.
Earlier on August 28, around 9:15 AM, a traffic accident occurred on L 3174 near Rödergrund involving a 20-year-old driver from Tann. The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Bahnhofstraße and Reichstraße, causing approximately 8,000 euros in property damage.
On August 27, a bicyclist was severely injured after crashing into the rear of a parked VW-Golf on Bronnzeller Straße in Engelhelms at around 6:00 AM. Emergency and rescue services, along with the Hofbieber fire department, were called to the scene.
In Fulda, a Honda Jazz driver collided with a bicyclist on Petersberger Straße at around 12:30 PM, causing light injuries to the bicyclist and approximately 600 euros in property damage.
On Wednesday (27.08.) around 9:15 PM, a traffic accident occurred in Bad Hersfeld involving a 39-year-old Audi driver and a 52-year-old Ford driver. The exact reasons for the collisions in both incidents remain unknown.
