Microsoft Holds AI Bootcamp at Chandigarh University in Uttar Pradesh

Tech giant Microsoft recently conducted an artificial intelligence (AI) bootcamp at the newly established campus of Chandigarh University in Uttar Pradesh. The event aimed to empower students with industry-oriented AI skills.

More than 300 students from various disciplines, including engineering, business, and computer applications, participated in the bootcamp. The training focused on hands-on experience with AI tools and technologies for the first batch of students at Chandigarh University.

Microsoft has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chandigarh University to implement industry-collaborative programs in AI and machine learning. This collaboration will integrate AI education into students' curriculums, providing them with training in the latest tools and technologies. This will enhance their skill sets and widen their career prospects.

This announcement marks a significant step towards leveraging AI in education, with students gaining essential skills like Python programming and AI integration. These skills are crucial for their future careers in AI-driven fields.

The event was hosted in partnership with FITT, IIT Delhi, and CU-TBI served as the strategic implementation partner. As part of these ongoing efforts, Chandigarh University successfully conducted the Microsoft AI Bootcamp under the Unnati AI initiative.

Unnati AI Accelerator is a joint program launched by FITT, Microsoft, and Chandigarh University, focusing on women's empowerment by ensuring 50% female participation in the program. The initiative's objectives include AI skilling, institutional partnerships, and funding opportunities for student innovators and early-stage founders, particularly from Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Chandigarh University Chancellor, Satnam Singh Sandhu, praised the university's commitment to industry and employment-oriented education, emphasizing its 12-year-long legacy and its focus on emerging fields like AI, machine learning, data science, and cybersecurity.

Nikhil Aggarwal, MD of FITT at IIT Delhi, commended the university's world-class infrastructure and its focus on skilling manpower for a new, AI-driven era. He highlighted the importance of institutions like Chandigarh University in driving Viksit Bharat, or digital India.

Lipika Sharma from Microsoft applauded Chandigarh University's AI-supported campus, stating that it serves as a commendable initiative to help students upskill with the latest technologies. She stressed the importance of staying updated and skilled in AI during the age of technological transformation.

Abhishek Tiwari, Founder and Chief Mentor at Venture Mozart, admired Chandigarh University's bold initiative of embedding AI into the curriculum, offering hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies. He emphasized the power of AI as a productivity tool and outlined its growing impact on the job market and various industries.

Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Managing Director of Chandigarh University, expressed the institution's goal of preparing the next generation of global technology and business leaders.
